Do I need planning permission?

The planning regulations governing your new log cabin are quite relaxed and you will have no problem as long as you meet the following criteria:

The log cabin is not placed in front of the building line; the building cannot be nearer to a highway than the nearest part of the house. There is an exception to the rule however, if there is 20 meters between the log cabin and the highway then you will ok. ou do not use the log cabin for residential purposes.
The log cabin is less than 3m in height if it has a flat roof or 4m in height if it has a ridged roof. All of our log cabins are below this height. If you live in a listed building, a Conservation Area, a National Park or an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the building must below 10 cubic meters.

Note: that if your log cabin is within 5m of your house and has a volume over 10 cubic meters then it will be treated as an extension.

Does it come with instructions?

Yes. All our log cabins come with comprehensive instructions and diagrams. The individual pieces are also labelled making the entire process relatively straight forward.

How long does it take to build?

This will vary depending on the size of the log cabin, although for most sizes it should take two people two days to erect. For the larger log cabins, two people should take four days.
